Year 1997 DVD-R Tester
Pulstec DDU-1000 (635nm)
2,000 Euros
Operational, with manuals, cables
This can test normal DVDs in the sense of extracting signals
but it is not 100% conform for a normal DVD.
The tester was designed for the early version of DVD-R,
which in year 2000 was relabeled as "DVD-R for professional".
The optics is slightly different from that for normal DVD one.
Nevertheless it can test DVD
It is an interesting bit of equipment to analyse the heart of a disc,
Particularly what the automated testers are not revealing.
